Embracing You Through the Enneagram

Why the enneagram?

This is a question that I get a lot. Why conflict and the enneagram? Why not another personality typing tool like DISC or Myers-Briggs? The answer is simple: the enneagram was the first personality typing tool that had a description that made me finally feel seen.

Reading the characteristics, motivations, and core beliefs of an enneagram eight, I was relieved. Finally! There was a way to describe who I am in words and as an added bonus – there are others out there who share this personality type!

The enneagram as a narrative typing tool is more beneficial than words can explain. It gives you an understanding of your personality based on characteristics ranging from healthy to unhealthy. You can see the patterns of your personality and identify the stage at which you have been in each pattern. You can use what you learn to move yourself to a healthy stage when displaying unhealthy characteristics. In addition to characteristics and ranges of health, you can also use the enneagram tool to understand, and I mean deeply understand, what motivates you. You can use this knowledge to improve yourself, your work, your productivity and so forth.

I will never forget listening to Conscious Construction with Abi Robbins and her interview with a fellow eight. The way that Holli described conflict as an invitation to intimacy just took my breath away. I’ve never heard it described this way but I felt it on a very deep level. That’s exactly what conflict has been to me, especially when unhealthy. It explained so much – like why I am here at Harmonious Resolutions teaching others about conflict and working to remove the stigma associated with it.

The enneagram has changed my life and my relationships. It’s been a lot of work, reading, and practice, but well worth it. One of my greatest joys in my life and work is opening the enneagram to so many other people.

With that, I’m thrilled to announce that I’m launching a new enneagram on-demand workshop offering this month! Starting on October 20th, you’ll be able to purchase my Explore the Enneagram: An Introduction to the 9 Types virtual workshop to watch at your leisure from the comfort of your home. This pre-recorded workshop will give an overview of the enneagram tool and a brief description of each type. It will also include a handout so you can start to identify your type. This is just the first workshop with more to come before the end of the year!
